The countries of Northern Europe and the Baltic States have declared strengthening of Ukraine's support. Presidents of Finland, Latvia, Lithuania and Ukraine, as well as Prime Ministers of Denmark, Estonia, Iceland, Norway and Sweden were relevant in Kyiv on February 24.
The leaders of the countries condemned a full -scale military invasion of Russia and emphasized that the result of the war would have fundamental consequences for European and transatlantic security. They confirmed their adamant support for the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
Among the major obligations of countries is an increase in investments in the Ukrainian defense industry, the supply of air defense, ammunition, as well as providing staffing and training of the unit with the size of the brigade.
“We will continue to strengthen our support. In order to achieve just and long peace, Ukraine and Europe must participate in any future negotiations. Ukraine must receive strong security guarantees and Europe should demonstrate its leadership, ”the statement reads.
The signatories also urged NATO members and partners to increase military assistance to Ukraine. They assured that they would continue to put pressure on Russia through sanctions and measures against the shadow fleet to limit the military machine to the aggressor country.
The countries of Northern Europe and the Baltic stressed on their support for Ukraine's integration into the European Union and noted significant progress made in the reforms despite Russia's military aggression. They expressed the hope of opening all the necessary clusters for Ukraine's accession to the EU in 2025 and confirmed the support of its Euro -Atlantic integration, including NATO membership.
