Ukraine is preparing to launch a new project called "Iron Range" aimed at testing weapons and equipment. This proactive step is the result of joint efforts of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Ministry of Industry. The goal of the project is to support Ukrainian developers and strengthen the country's arsenal. According to the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Andrii Lebedenko, this initiative is aimed at rapid testing and delivery of promising developments to the troops, thereby simplifying the process of introducing new weapons for the Defense Forces.
"The test site will provide professional evaluation of products, the necessary sites and means for testing, as well as assistance in the preparation of documents," explained the colonel.
Currently, Ukraine is actively developing new types of weapons. The systems of the "Iron Polygon" will be aimed at testing robotic systems, drones and electronic warfare systems. Ukrainian manufacturers will be able to test their weapon samples at any stage of readiness. Colonel Lebedenko also noted that the current procedures for access to tests at test sites are too complicated for manufacturers.
It is expected that the launch of the "Iron Polygon" will take place by the end of spring this year.
