France has declared its readiness to transmit intelligence information to Ukraine if the United States reduces the amount of assistance. This was announced by French Defense Minister Sebastian Lecorn in an interview with the French media.
“Our intelligence is sovereign ... with our own capabilities. We pass it on to the Ukrainians, ”he emphasized, stressed that France has sufficient resources to support Ukraine in the fight against Russian aggression.
In recent months, discussions on further military assistance to Ukraine have intensified in the United States. The Congress continues to dispute between Republicans and Democrats on a new package of funding for Kyiv's defense needs. If the US is reducing the transfer of critical intelligence, it can affect Ukraine's ability to effectively plan combat operations.
France, which is one of the leading military states of Europe and a member of NATO, demonstrates the determination to support Kiev not only with weapons, but also the key information necessary for the war.
France has a powerful reconnaissance data collection system that includes:
- Space Intelligence - CSO (Composante Spatiale Optiale Series), capable of receiving high quality images of hostilities and hostile positions.
- Radioelectronic intelligence - systems that allow you to intercept the enemy communications.
- Special Services - General Directorate of Foreign Security of France (DGSE) and military intelligence (DRM) that have a network of agents in different countries.
The transfer of this data can significantly strengthen the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in particular in matters of counter -offensive actions and protection of strategically important objects.
This statement of Lecorton is part of France's broader policy to expand Ukraine's assistance. Earlier, President Emmanuel Macron said he did not exclude the departure of military instructors to Ukraine to train the Armed Forces. Paris also announced a new military assistance package that includes the supply of SCalp-EG long-range missiles and air defense systems.
