President of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili said she will veto the law "on foreign agents"

The President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili, announced that she would veto the law "on foreign agents" adopted by the parliament in the first reading.

Note that in Georgia, the presidential veto is overridden by a simple majority of votes.

According to the country's constitution, if the president does not agree with the law, he must send amendments to it. They are put to a vote, and if they do not pass, the initial version of the draft law is voted on again.

If the president refuses to sign it within five days, the speaker of the parliament does so.
