British defensive companies on the rise after statements about peacekeepers in Ukraine

Following the statements of British Prime Minister, Sir Kira Starmer about the "readiness and desire" to place peacekeeping troops in Ukraine, the capitalization of the largest defense companies of the United Kingdom has increased significantly. Bae Systems, which is a leader in the defense sector of Europe, has been fixed by the greatest growth. The cost of the company's shares increased by 6%, which added € 2.4 billion to its market capitalization, which is now estimated at 48 billion euros.

Not only the political discussion of peacekeeping forces in Ukraine, but also political statements about the role of the United States on European issues, was an explanation for such an increase in shares. Thus, after Donald Trump, who noted that he would not involve the United States in peace talks with Russia without the participation of Europe, the actions of British defense companies also showed positive dynamics. In particular, Rolls-Royce shares increased by 1.5%and Qinetiq Group increased by 3%. The main driver of this growth is the statement that British peacekeepers can be sent to Ukraine if the situation is getting worse. Lord Peter Rickketts, a former national security adviser in David Kemeroni, noted that the British military will probably have to participate in hostilities with the Russians if peacekeeping troops are introduced into Ukraine.

Bae Systems has also recently announced the opening of an artillery plant in Sheffield, where the M777 howls will be produced by Ukrainian artillerymen. Other projects, such as F-35 fighter jets, Typhoon aircraft and Dreadnough, are important for the British defense industry.

However, the former diplomat Peter Rickketts emphasized that the role of the British military in the war in Ukraine should be clearly defined. He also expressed concern about the fact that if peacekeepers are placed without proper control, it can lead to the participation of British troops in conflict with Russia.
